The sleeved Tri Suit discussion got me to thinking about wet suit removal during T1. Anyone willing to share helpful tips? I have done the PAM spray gig and in the past pulling with one foot only ends up with a calf cramp possibly. Best method I have had is just getting it as far down my calf as I can and then inserting my thumb in the back and prying it down. The space beside my Achilles allows my thumb to slip in there nicely. If there is a previous thread, just shoot me where to look, thanks.

while you are running into T1 you should unzip, pull your arms out and have it around your waist.

Once your at your bike pull it straight down, should make it past your knees without a problem. Then basically standing on the suit lift one leg then the other back a forth 2 or 3 times you will be out.

Some people cut the legs of the suit up a little so the opening is larger. I cut about 3 inches off the bottom of my suit.
Practice it a couple of time, should take about 20 to 30 seconds to get out tops. In T1 it feels like forever.

Pretty much this. Practice a few times. Get good at it. Work on getting the legs out on 1 pull each. As carefully as I try to be putting the wetsuit on, it is just the opposite getting it off in T1.

Ok the first 3 steps I have down pat
Don't you ever cramp in your calves stomping back and forth? I must have massive calves then or an ill fitting wet suit

Cutting it a few inches sounds like a great idea, thanks

I've never heard of cramps doing this. It shouldn't take a whole lot of stomping back and forth and your emphasis on stomping makes me wonder if you're not thinking of this quite right. You step down with one foot to pin the wetsuit to the ground. The real stripping happens when you yank the other foot up sharply - you've really got to yank up like you mean it. Are you getting cramps in the foot that's coming down or the one that's yanking up. The only think I can think of is that you may be trying to do a little too much on the downstroke. Unlike pedaling, the real action happens on the upstroke.

Cut the legs of the suit to the bottom of the calf at an angle so the opening is a tad bigger. Worked for Craig Walton.

yep, as people have stated, start by unzipping the wet suit and getting your arms out, then bring the suit down to your hips, then forcefully pull the suit down as far as it will go, getting your feet out is a tricky task and that's why most people cut the suit shorted on the legs to make it easier to get out of.

This is a 'first impressions' review of the Fit2Race Sockeye Fullsuit. From a first wetsuit point-of-view, I was able to dramatically improve my pace over non-wetsuit swims.

I step gingerly into the pond. I did not know water could be that cold and not be ice. Briefly I can see the bottom and then everything is black except for my pale hands extending from my black suit.

I am not going to buy a tri-suit before my first tri - I want to make sure I am going to stick with this before I spend a lot of money on it so I want to figure out what will work best.
