Howdie! My name is Steve. I'm a 35 year old guy from los Angeles. I hate going to the gym, but love to work out. Thinking of registering for the long beach triathlon this September. Still not sure. I feel this would be a good community for me to get started.
Peace.

Hiya Steve! I have this weird feeling I know you from somewhere (I lived in LA & So Cal for 15yr), but ... there are a lot of people in So Cal Welcome to BT and tri. This is a good place -- check out our mentor groups, they're super supportive and some are still open.

LA Tri Club also has great stuff all over the LA area--they have beginner nights every month or so as well and lots of beginner-friendly group training.

I have pedals with the cage and when I ride 2+ hours my legs feel much more tired then if I took out my husband's bike with clipless pedals. Do clipless pedals truly make the difference?

I started riding this spring with the Carnac shoes on Look pedals (with plenty of float). About five minutes into a ride I get sharp pain on the outer edge of my feet, just behind the pedal.
