Hi all,
I have always been a water person, so when my wife said, I don't want you to go away any more for work we can stay together.( I was a FIFO worker)
I said yeah ok, thinking it won't last.
So I joined the university gyme and accessed there pool.5 months later I thought there is no reason for us not to be fit cause we have heaps of free time.
I had been swimming every day 1.5 - 3km's and thought I could buy us both bikes to get more exercise. Yeah I know this is how it all starts, then of course We started riding to the pool 8km's then started riding to her mums and back 10x10kms, my wife is scared of water but my son wanted a bike so I said when you can swim 100 mtrs I'll buy you a bike the deal was done so he's learning every day and keen. Ann is scared of the water but now she takes him to the pool and they swim together a bit of competition never hurt.. I taught them how to swim underwater to eliminate the fear of drowning now they teach each other ,while I clock up the km's then do a teaching session with them,Oh they wont use the kids pool its to shallow so they swim in the olympic lap pool were they cant touch the bottom. so I talked her into doing the Triathlon to or the sprint cause I need a training partner. what really helps is having a bit of vanity cause we want to look good and I want to be around a little longer to enjoy the time I have left with them. So far my whole life has been a apprenticeship so when i met Anne i would know how to do it right.

Hi, welcome to BT and triathlon! This is actually a fairly international place even if it's U.S. based and focused ... but I know very well what a FIFO worker is (I often live in Perth).

Good luck with the family endeavours!

I usually have at least one workout per day, sometimes two or three, but I spend about all in-between time eating. I am not gaining weight, but I am not losing weight either. Should I be concerned?
