Subject: Saddle
Good evening guys !

I recently bought a triathlon bike ( Argon e117 ) pretty nice, and I got a question for you.
What is your brand for your saddle ?
Because mind is the original from the bike, and in the aero position, is not very comfy , I got some bid with excellent padding ( Castelli free Aero )
But between the leg there is no padding, so in aero position when I sit on the nose of the saddle, you can imagine the pain ...

So I'm looking for your advice about the saddle, because I can't use the one I have for an Ironman

Thank !!

A couple of things... First it's very common that saddle issues are actually fit issues. Make sure you have a solid fit before you start replacing any saddle, or it can end up costing you lots of money and lost storage space taken up by all those extra saddles... :-)

Second, the saddle is the most personal component on a bike. What works for me, may very well not work for you. So take this with a grain of salt... I'm using Bontrager Hilo RXL (and so is my wife).

Yes I really understand your point about the saddle.
And my goal , asking what is your saddle, is not the know what is THE BEST saddle, but what is your experience with your saddle bad or good, and
with all the info, it will guide me with my next purchase.

Anyone else wants to share their story for the saddle ?

I ride 3 different brands. My road bike has a Specialized Power. My Tri-Bike has an ISM Road on it. I also have a circa 1990's Greg LeMond IM branded saddle on my fixie, but I really wouldn't factor that into the equation. I went through demo tests from my LBS for both. The primary thing they have in common is the split nose design. It took a while to get the right ones, some trial and error.

I have the Argon 119+ and I didn't even take the stock saddle home with me. I've tried my Cobb Randee (from my previous tri bike) and tried the Cobb SRT. I still end up with discomfort/chafing on the legs (despite liberal DzNutsBliss). I just ordered a Dash strike and hope to be more comfortable with a minimal style saddle, although I realize no saddle is something we would choose to sit on for hours if we weren't riding.

Perhaps you did not really get the point being made.

As Jan wrote, every saddle-rider ' interface' is different... So even what I might describe as the most craptastically pain-inducing torture device may fit you perfectly

Yes, compare shapes, width, firmness.... but terms like 'good' are far too subjective to really assist in making informed decisions.

I cannot get comfortable without the nose of the saddle being tilted down. I have tried many different seats and had two professional fittings, but still have excessive numbness and discomfort.

Finding the right bicycle saddle is often a confusing process of trial and error for cyclists. However, a little education goes a long way, and will perhaps save you some pain and discomfort as well.

Many things will influence your triathlon bike position, but if you are forced to set your position up on your own, there are several overall guidelines that should help.

In this third segment, Colorado Premier Training goes through several bike position tests to improve on rider efficiency. This was accomplished by varying the saddle height and aerobar width.

When first going aero, your shop should begin by putting you in the least aggressive position. This means the aerobar pads will be almost level or just below the saddle.

After a while on my first longish ride, I noticed that I was getting numb. It’s scary. “Will feeling return?” is the first thing that comes to mind.

The ISM Adamo Racing Saddle is difficult to define. It doesn’t look like a bicycle saddle. It doesn’t mount like a bicycle saddle. And yet, it does feel like a bicycle saddle.

Whether your bike is new, new to you, or you have not been on the bike for a long time, you really should spend some time thinking about how your bike fits you.
