Hey Bama folks, let's hear about your plans for 2016!
I'm going over the state line for Toughman Georgia at Callaway Gardens in 3 weeks, then looking forward to a full calendar of sprints & oly's the rest of the season.
God willing, I'll be at Oly at Guntersville Tri festival, Team Magic's Mountain Lakes sprint, Reverse the Cycle sprint in Cullman, Team Magic Chattanooga Waterfront Oly, Wet Dog in Decatur, Renaissance Man, and Rocket Man.
What ya'll got going?

You're a busy guy.

I'll be doing Buster Britton, probably the Capital of Dreams oly in July, then I'll finish the season with the Alabama Coastal Tri in September.

Hope to do my first HIM in Chattanooga in May 2017.

Good luck to you as well - I am so nervous about the swim! I noticed the 1976 in your user name - I am a 1976'er as well, turned the big 4-0 in January!

Good Luck to you folks at the Alabama Coastal! Hopefully the cooling pattern will continue so you will have great weather! I haven't done an beach swimming yet, so that will definitely be interesting. I'm a little nervous about trying one, thinking the waves could be a major factor, but I guess everyone would be in the same boat (or hopefully NOT in one, lol).
I've finished up my season this past Sunday with the Rocketman in Huntsville. Highly recommend that one! It was a great race! A little hot of course on the run, but a very nice course and venue. My favorite so far of my 9 tri's I've done since I started last year, except for Toughman Georgia at Callaway Gardens in April. That one was gorgeous with most of it being in the Gardens. Wanted to go down this Sunday for the Olympic at the Gardens but being Labor Day weekend, couldn't get a room and it didn't work out.

I'm a little late getting back to the forum. Hope your 2 races so far went well, I've heard the Capital of Dreams is a lot of fun, with a riverboat start I think? Kind of like a mini Escape from Alacatraz lol. I got all my races in except for Renaissance Man, didn't make it to that one. So my season is over. Good luck on the Coastal! If things don't work out the Chatt 70.3 consider the Toughman Georgia in April at Callaway Gardens. It was my first 70.3 and I absolutely loved it. Beautiful course and I lucked out into some perfect weather that weekend.

The off season should be just that – a time to rest your body, to rehabilitate injury, and to plan ahead on how to improve performance and prevent injury in the season to come.

The off-season is the best time to fine tune your skills and prepare yourself for the next season. It is also time for you to gain some strength and get a little rest after a long season of training.

As I have reflected over the Tri season this year, I thought about some of the people that I don’t think I will ever forget.
