Subject: It's this a good first tri bike
1999 Quintana Roo TeQuilo ultegra.... Is this a good first tri bike? I'm looking to do a couple Sprint tri's

The Tequilo was a great bike at the time.    It won't have the latest parts/design, but it will help you get used to the aero position.  If this is an upgrade for what you have, and the price is right, go for it.

Not sure the price tag, but if it were me I would prefer something less than 17yrs old. 5yrs old, sure. 17...I'd probably keep searching.

Fit is most important when buying a bike - even a great bargain won't be worth it if it doesn't fit and you can be comfortable. If you don't know much about bikes, have someone go with you that is knowledgeable to check your basic fit and give the bike a once over. If it fits and is a good deal (so low risk) and has been maintained ok, go for it!
