I think we traveled something like 12,000 K of vert and 18 miles over the three days. At times carrying over 60 lbs on our backs.

I seriously took a butt kicking but had so much fun and learned a TON.

You have the coolest adventures and take such excellent pictures, it's always a joy to see what you are up to!

Okay, it was him. He's changed it to public. Apparently he thought he was working on a copy? I don't know. At any rate, apologies on his behalf. Plus, I don't think he actually was helping or finishing anything....so double apologies. Maybe he found out you were Welsh and decided to be smug and English?

Off to the beach everyone. Hope you all have a great 4th! I've got my running shoes and goggles packed with great intentions to run more miles than I eat in number of hot dogs!

Enjoy! I must survive one more work day before I, too, am off to the beach.

No worries. Yes, they were copies, I just couldn't remember where I put that file. Gpsies won't let me upload a file/route that is identical to one that is already uploaded by someone else but I can view and copy theirs if it's made public.

It's Bond Falls up in Michigan. Very impressive to see in person. This is only half of the base. The whole thing could entirely cover the townhouse complex I live in. Plus there are lots of other smaller ones right above. Really easy to get around at the base. Not really hard going up along side either, just stairs. And you can go right up to it.

The trip was up to Washburn, WI, stopping in at Copper Falls the way up. Rode the Superior Vistas ride the next morning. Has a stop on Lake Superior and a lot of time going through the Chequemagon National Forest. No major features, but great roads with lots of nice trees around. Decided to cancel the boat tour around the Apostle Islands for the earlier posted picture. The way back down was a stop at Superior Falls, Bond Falls, my cousin's ice cream place, and my brother's for his daughter's birthday.

Even more fun was forgetting the adapter (77 to 72), any sort of tripod, and having a near dead battery. Just barely got this in.

Hi Manatees! I've been quiet lately - life is busy, as it is for pretty much everyone. :D

Happy Canada Day tomorrow! :D

I've been able to log some good bike time and get more enthused about training in general - thanks, bike commuting!

Other than that doing grown up stuff like meeting with mortgage advisors and looking at window options for our reno and possible rentals to live in while the reno is being done! It's so many decisions!

This question might sound nutso, but I am what I am. I try to use the same profile pic on all of the social media I use. I also like to change my pics on occasions (like the 4th of July). Does anyone know of a way to sync all that stuff up? I would like to change more often, but what a hassle keeping Twitter, Facebook, Google, BT, etc current. I may have to go the standard, one pic, never change route. Oh the first world problems!

No idea. But I loved TW's description of leaving the beach yesterday   That will be a great memory.

The running aspect of an Ironman triathlon is a marathon. Most people take on a marathon as a single event and the training for this uses up a lot of their time. Here are some tips for the run.

Find a mentor. Make a list of at least three people that you could approach for help, list your specific needs and then be courageous enough to begin asking.
