Subject: Electric Bikes

I had a chance to ride a demo electric bike (mountain bike) when I was picking up my tri bike from the shop a couple days ago.  OMG was that thing fun.  I just took it around the parking lot for a while.  Holy cow, I felt like a superhero on that thing -- stellar power and acceleration.

Have you ridden one of these, or do you own one?  What's your impression?

Hey doc, I got low T, can you put a motor in my bike?     Now if someone could figure out how to implant a motor and battery for the run, I'd be all set.

At the shop they were saying that there are e-bike races.  I guess that must be a combo of bmx and motocross racing.

I've never ridden one but my brother does a lot of MTB and said he tried a friend's and it was a blast.

There are certain points in mountain bike trails that a little nudge would be nice.

It's hard to get speed up at the base so a little extra power would be nice.
