Over in the mentor threads we always find out on Friday who's racing the upcoming weekend. That being said, I'm sure there are plenty of BTers on the start line this weekend. So tell us: who's racing, and if you are, what is the song that's going to help you get pumped up?

I'm not racing this weekend, but this should help anyone that is.

Not racing this weekend but here's my go to training and racing song (and video).

If you can watch this and not get pumped I'm not sure what to say.

Edit to say that there is some questionable language in this one......

I'm not racing this weekend either, but I just got back from the gym and lifting weights on my lunch break and I had this on repeat. One of my favorite songs and I listen with the volume maxed out.
Bassnectar - 'Here We Go'

I'm racing sprint triathlon and, unfortunately, no music allowed.. Which means something stupid will stuck in my head for most of the race...
But for the runs I usually have techno/house/electro mix that gives me both: the tempo/rhythm and some "soundtrack for imagination." Usually the ones that get me into speed with an extra motivation is Darude "Sandstorm" and Michael Woods "Cherry Blossom".
I normally listen to death metal, but it did not find it helpful for the race.

When I was at the starting line of the American Birkibeiner a few years ago, "I like to move it, move it!" was playing through the PA. Not only a horrible earworm, but that was the only part of the song I knew so my brain repeated that one lyric for the next 6.5 hours. That was fun!

Race practice/simulation for me this weekend.
And thoughts of Joanie always help when I get to the run.

Good luck to all racing this weekend!

I have my first multisport with a Du tomorrow. Pre-race I pump Firebeatz GO! Spotify has a running version that I put at 185 beats/min to get an earworm cadence in my head.

Not racing this weekend (had enough for a while last weekend) but this has always kind of been my theme song. (Emmylou Harris--"Born to Run")

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rv7UbRq_A6o

These days I don't usually need any music to fire me up, but this plus Chariots of Fire was always on my playlist when I was younger.
And thanks for the Joanie song. She has always been a hero of mine; the whole story of the first women's Olympic Marathon is tied up with my own early days in the sport. What's amazing is that Joanie has still been competing at a high level in Master's meets in recent years. I often get to see her run when we have those events in Eugene.
