Elite  4583   |  Subject: 5.14.16 Sunny Saturday!Good morning BT! Well, softball did not go well, unfortunately. Lost both games so we are out. My daughter is handling it well...just counting the days until college softball when she is surrounded by teammates that have been playing their positions as long as she has been pitching and are as dedicated to the sport as she is. Good lesson in keeping her head when frustrated and still doing her job--she pitched two excellent games. As for me...tuning up Judy the mountain bike and heading out for a ride! Haven't been out yet this spring and it's a gorgeous day out there. Good luck anyone racing! Karen...when/where is worlds? Have a great day!

Started not feeling well last night, so slept in today and got in a 5.5 mile run. Drove to Tucson for a family thing, then back again - ugh, too much time in the car for me! Master 8247 Eugene, Oregon Bronze member | Subject: RE: 5.14.16 Sunny Saturday! Worlds are September 4 in Mooloolaba, Australia. About 60 miles from Brisbane on the Sunshine Coast. Need to bone up on my Australian geography. I actually don't have any idea where any of those places are! You're a teacher so you can appreciate what horrid timing that is, especially considering I have the "world's longest commute" to my job. I will be here around August 1, and we start school on August 10. There's not much chance of meaningful training going on during those first few weeks, and then I'd need to taper. To top things off, I'm signed up for Calgary 70.3 at the end of July and we've kind of built a family vacation around it. Have e-mailed my coach about this quandary--not sure exactly what I'm going to do but not doing Worlds wouldn't be one of them! Still not quite up to training yesterday. Maybe will try an easy trainer ride today. |
