Good morning BT!  I was up and at 'em at my usual time this morning!

4:30am:  1:20 on the KK

6:00am:  30 minutes core

Family day heading into Salt Lake City for a Home Depot & Costco run. Yes, we must drive 120 miles to get to either place!  I'm guessing both places will be madhouses!

Have a wonderful day!

 Good morning!

6:00 am, 1 hour on trainer, easy spin. Intended to sleep in until 5:30, but baby woke me up. My body was awake anyway . . . scary how fast it's adjusted to the very early workouts.

Remember the reason for the holiday, and make it a safe one.

wow, that's a long drive for a Costco run! I bet you have one of those flatbeds that you load up since you don't have one close! I'll never complain about driving 15 min to mine!

7am - 75 min trainer ride. Mix of over and under threshold efforts. Put my road bike on the trainer and gave it a go!

Have a safe one out there everyone! God Bless our veterans!

Hope you have a safe trip. Wow--that is a long way to go. I was thinking 120 miles round trip and thinking, "Oh, it's just an hour or so," then realized that's one way. Yikes! Cannot imagine driving to Portland from Eugene every time we needed a big box store.

1:12 of running here with a little (slow) tempo stuff; 3000m of swimming a few hours after that. Lots of errands, too, so kind of a tiring day.

I did book a ticket to Australia....Keep having the horrible thought that I'm spending all this $$ (for those who don't know, if you KQ or qualify for other Worlds as an age-grouper, you DON'T get a free trip! Very far from it as the hotels jack up their prices and impose minimum stays, plus of course you are, by definition, traveling with a bike.) to maybe end up DFL in my age group. At least I get to see Australia. (Never been.) Maybe there will be a kangaroo on the course or something. (Just so I don't hit it with my bike....I visualize them hanging around yards and strolling casually into traffic like deer do in the Pacific Northwest. There are a few courses where they can be a serious safety hazard on the bike.)

Do we really need chia, spelt, and quinoa? Is anything wrong with old-fashioned peanut butter, broccoli and brown rice?

We have new 10 and 20 week training plans for the New Year! These mini sprint plans are very conservative and will get any person thinking of training for a triathlon ready to cross the finish-line.

Cotswold super sprint - UK. Lots of bodies colliding, I swam half over someone, got kicked by some bloody breaststroker, and as a mob we poured towards the first buoy.

Already a cyclist and not a bad swimmer, I figured all I had to do was build up to running a few miles and I’d be ready to go. The challenge invigorated me, and I ran out to buy new running shoes.

Since I didn't have much time and since it's a super sprint, am I OK just go to at the training relatively hard through Thursday or even Friday?
