Subject: Training Groups
Hi Everyone!

It's been years since I have competed/trained for triathlon (AZ Ironman 2010). I have slowly been getting back into shape and competing in half marathons and now back on my bike and in the pool. I know in 2010 there was a great community of us that would train together. Especially for bike rides on the weekends. Are there any good groups or meet-ups that you know of for cycling or even running? It is always nice to train with others

Thanks in Advance!

-Melanie

Oh Awesome! Do you normally ride in that area? I've gone down 15th to Grand to Central to south mountain (not actually into the park) It's a pretty decent ride

I have gone south, but typically go north a few miles and hang a right at Butler Park (past northern ave) and then make my way to the Arizona Canal at central ave. From there, you can either stick to the canals for a flat ride (with underpasses under most street so no stopping) or head up through the Dreamy Draw Park for a little hills. Longer rides stretch into Paradise Valley from there (up and around camelback and mummy mountain).

I may try going that way tomorrow then. I forgot about the canal that would be a good stretch and I like the idea of not having to worry about traffic.

The most valuable thing you can do for your endurance training is to schedule a weekly 2-4hr long ride from now until the end of time. Simply make this “what you do” every Saturday or Sunday morning.

Individuals are just that, individuals and need individual programs. However, with a group the size of yours, it may be difficult for your coaches to do 25 individual workouts.
