Hello All! 50 year old Tri-noob here.
Here is the readers digest condensed version.... I saw a picture of my 239 lb self (I'm 6' 3", thin skeleton) in July of 2015 with my daughter at Disneyland, and was thoroughly disgusted at what I had become. Started dieting, and walking initially. That progressed into running, which got me into biking, started swimming at the HS near my house. Been eating clean, exercising every day. Down to 174 lbs, and feeling great.
I have done some 5k's and decided to step up my game, and try a triathlon. I am signed up for my first one on July 17th1 So there you have

Welcome, and great work!

I'm also 6'3 and lost a lot of weight, although not as much as you. I started running because my brother invited me to do a 10k on Thanksgiving. I found I liked training for it and, 8 years later, here I am. 

Lots of good resources here, folks of all ability levels. Any specific goals you're working toward?

Thanks!
My first race will be a sprint distance, and as I progress, I'd like to move up to the longer distances.Right now searching for a bike within my budget, and enjoying the results of the work I've been putting in.

You've got about 5 years on me, but I had 65 lbs on you!

I enjoy the races and preparing for the races so much, I find it keeps me doing fitness pretty much year round.
