Did anyone complete the bike/run for the Bigfoot tri this past weekend? I was bummed that the weather changed the nature of the race. Go figure I drive there and no rain, but once I'm there the waterworks start. Start time was delayed about 25 minutes, but then the decision was to cancel the swim and just keep the bike/run. But it was still raining and I didn't want to chance riding on the course with it being so wet. Also, it's a trail run and that would have just been a sloppy mess. Oh well......

I did. The bike portion was fine and I had no issues. I didn't hear of anyone crashing, just people getting flat tires.

The run was hot and muddy. Since I've done this race before and knew it was going to rain I wore my old running shoes. I stepped in a few huge puddles but otherwise it wasn't as bad as I thought. There were a lot of dry spots.

I too was bummed that the swim was canceled but this was just a training race for me in preparation to my HIM in 3 weeks and my IM in September. I did notice that a lot of people dropped out.

Did end up with my fastest bike split and overall finished faster on the bike and run than last year.

Ok, thanks for the feedback.

Are you doing Muncie? I'll be there too.

I did it too. I was surprised that so many people pulled out after the swim was cancelled. Alot of talent left, but I'm happy because I finished 3rd in my AG. Finished with my AG's fasted bike split. The rain was driving the entire bike, but the roads were fine and I never felt unsafe. I road hard. The run was tough because the trail was quite muddy and the grass was long and saturated. Like running in sand. I'm from out of town and did not know anything about the course at all (my fault, I didn't do any due diligence). It turned out to be a good fun event though.
