Hi
Having last minute anxieties over race Saturday....first HIM, whilst you can't predict my experience can you give me help on how I may feel between bike end and run start. I have done brick sessions so aware of heavy leg stuff, on b Ickes I've only run up to 30 mins which was ok but think was not really running at race pace as knew I was stopping soon! And by that's point had enough??
Will it be 'normal' if I feel it's impossible at first? Does this improve..is it really hard at this point for everyone? Imagine it's pretty hard.. I'm just completing not racing but will find run cut off a challenge to meet..be rubbish to get well into run and be made to DNF for time running out...has anyone experienced that
Thanks for feedback

It may likely feel easier then you think at first......your legs will want to keep moving.  The boogeyman is going out too fast.......just work your way into it slowly no matter how you feel.

Shhhhhhh... relax..... breathe......

Seriously, what LB said.  You will probably go too fast out of the gate.   Concentrate (IMO only) on running easy out of T2.   Point of this is not how fast you can run at mile 1, but how fast you can run miles 10-13.  If you go too slow hammer the last 5K and you'll be passing a TON of people. My best runs have started out feeling "I could run like this all day".  I try to accelerate but in reality after a while it starts taking more effort just to keep that "easy" pace

Pacing the HIM is I think one of the hardest things about this sport.

Good luck

My hamstrings are usually pretty tight once getting off the bike. It takes me about a half mile to work out the kinks and get into a decent stride.

I first decided I was going to "do" a triathlon in 1994. It wasn't until 13 years later, in 2007 that I actually did. Why did it take me 13 years to get to the starting line? The swim!
