Subject: Swim Goggles
I am prepping for my first triathlon. (YAY!) Having a blast, feeling so good after many inactive years, reawakening the athlete I used to be! I have Speedo Women's Vanquisher 2.0 swim goggles. The suction on them is so tight, it feels like I'm going to suck out an eyeball when I take them off. They also leave red rings around my eyes that last for hours. I've loosened up the straps to nearly the end, but I think this is just how these goggles fit. (I have a "regular" size head) Is that the way they are supposed to fit? Is there anything that works well but is gentler on my eye area? Vanity also inspires this question...don't want any extra stretching and such on my eye area. Thank you!

I use Zoggs Predator Flex as well. They are a bit more pricey here but they seem to last really well if you rinse them after each use in the pool. 3 years and counting for one pair so far.

After three triathlon seasons, I finally decided that I wanted to actually see well during the swim portion. My vision is not so great. I had to find better goggles.

So here I was, a hard-working, respectable, just-turned-forty-six-year-old, who never considered herself athletic, lining up in my swim cap and goggles for my first triathlon.

Getting fall discounts on triathlon equipment is more difficult than finding the Great Pumpkin, right? Well, I’m here to say it isn’t so. Deals for triathletes are plentiful - you just have to look.
