Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 4 am (race start at 7 am) and had a great breakfast. Oat meal, avocado and 2 slices of bread with cottage cheese and peanut butter. Drinking powerbar drink all morning.
Event warmup:

short jog, jumping jacks
Swim
  • 1h 14m 3s
  • 3800 meters
  • 01m 57s / 100 meters
Comments:

LOTS of fog/mist making navigation hard for some. I had no issues
What would you do differently?:

Not much actually. Very good swim. Maybe i would push a bit harder. I felt very comfortable all the way. Almost at a resting pace. But did that intentionally.
Transition 1
  • 03m 47s
Comments:

Pretty good T1. Suit stuck a little . My family waved at me when i was running to my bike, i wave back and missed my bike isle. had to turn around and run back.
What would you do differently?:

Mark my bags better, with some couloring band or such. But didnt have any problems finding, just a thought.
Bike
  • 5h 58m 19s
  • 180 kms
  • 30.14 km/hr
Comments:

Jumped on my bike and fastened my shoes after 2-3 km when getting up the speed. Drank and ate to get some energy back from swim first 20 minutes.
Over the long bridge to Oland (8k bridge) was awesome. Bridge is closed normally and only allowed with cars. 120k on the island and back on the bridge. 60k north out from Kalmar was a bit boring with not many spectators.
What would you do differently?:

Train more bike. Im very weak here. But satisfied with my effort allthesame.
Transition 2
  • 02m 19s
Comments:

Jumped off bike and passed LOTS of people that walk off the bike. Trained a lot and running off bike and NAILED it!!
What would you do differently?:

Not much. Pretty much a perfect T2.
Run
  • 4h 14m 5s
  • 42.2 kms
  • 06m 01s  min/km
Comments:

Happy with my run effort. Could keep an pretty solid run pace all the way. No wall, no walking and not much suffering actually. Kept eating and drinking very good.
What would you do differently?:

Get faster :D

Awesome job! The windmills on Oland are so pretty. Was it windy this year?

During the race there will be plenty of opportunities to exchange bottles, so I'm thinking about going with the aero bottle and Gatorade bottle and fill up as necessary. What should I do?
