Subject: How to price a used TT bike?
Hey all!
Looking to sell my 2009 Cervelo P2. Size small with 650 wheels. Was a great bike but just too small for me.
Ultegra components
new Zipp aerobar pads, Easton rims, Cobb JOF55 saddle, Shimano Ultegra pedals.
Serviced regularly at local tri shop. No crashes or accidents

I bought it used from the original owner for $1500 and it didn't have many miles on it.

Years, races, training and one Ironman later…now she needs to go to another home. I would keep her but she just doesn't fit perfectly.

How do I go about pricing this? I'd like to at least get some $$ to put towards a new bike but don't want to overestimate it either.

Thanks for any help!

Maybe start at bike blue book and check the value and go from there.

Describe it well, use lots of pictures, and you will sell it for what it is worth on eBay. in 7 days.

Bike blue book seems to be way below actual value on tt bikes. Just an observation, I'm no expert on the market.

I just purchased a 2006 Cervelo Dual, Easton wheels nice set up for $650. When I was looking it seemed like a majority of 2009 and newer/carbon frames ultegra or better were 1k+. Everything else was under 800.

I just purchased. So all observations.

might try Craigslist at around $850 and see if you get any bites.

I figure it's probably about a $700-800 bike. Totally depends on who's out there looking for a small tri bike w 650 wheels.

also with the new bikes at 11 speed, it's a harder sell.

How quickly do you want to sell it?

How much do you want to "optimize" the price?

You could put a fairly low price on it and be done in a heartbeat.

You could put a high price on it and wait...

Detractors:  It's 7 years old (10 speed?) and has 650C wheels.

Adders:  The other component upgrades.

Thanks for all the replies. From looking at all the other sites, looks like I would be starting at around $600, adding $100 for the new Zipp aerobar pads (what I paid for them), and the Cobb Saddle - maybe another $75-100.
I have a friend who is quite petite that is looking at it…she wants a fun tri bike to just play around in (she doesn't compete) so it could work for her. I let her take it home and to her mechanic to get a look over. We will see.
At this point, I'd be happy with just have it done. I can't compete for a while (some major injuries that need a while to work out) and if I need a bike I can always ride my road bike.

Eventually I'll want to get another tri bike, but now it's just not in the cards.

Again, thanks for all the great info! I really appreciate it!

I remember selling a bike similar to that for $450. When I mentioned the price to the guy, he ran to his car for his checkbook. At the rate he was running, I realized I had asked too little.
