Subject: Adjustment from Virtual Power to Actual Power

Long-time TrainerRoad user with virtual power, just bought a power meter (Powertap Pro+).  Other than the obvious that my FTP might be a little different (though my first test trainer spin suggests it was pretty accurate - won't know until I do a few workouts), what can I expect?

Happiness that you can get power data outside!

Happiness that you don't have to be super anal about your trainer setup to get consistent data!

In short, happiness!

Congrats on the purchase.

Being able to use power while you race is probably the biggest benefit - both for racing smarter, and for reviewing how you did post-race.

Also if you search on here, you can use a testing protocol with the PM to improve your aero position.

I love it when BT validates my spending money.

Thanks!

Update: probably looking at a 8-10% drop in real FTP vs. virtual - a supposedly tempo workout was more like a sweet spot in terms of effort.

I also changed tires, which is mucking with which gears I used for different efforts.

First world problems, I suppose.
