Subject: Welcome Home
Hi All--

My folks are coming home soon from a two week vacation in Europe, so they will be tired and jet lagged. I'm heading to their house later today to get it ready for their homecoming as a welcome home surprise . I've already thought to mow the lawn, freshen their linens, get a few basic groceries, and turn on the hot water heater, but what else can I do to ease their re-entry into non-vacation world? What would you want someone to have taken care of if you were away?

Thanks!

Clean the carpets, fresh coat of paint, any needed home repairs, get their cars serviced, maybe a new kitchen, upgrade their TVs to 4k.  What's your budget for this?

I dare not clean anything in my mother's house! Invariably, I'd do it wrong. They just remodeled the kitchen two years ago, so I'm safe there. Wouldn't waste a 4K tv on a house with an antenna and no dvr, so it looks like I'm set!

Grocery shopping (stock fridge with perishables you know they use) and something that they can heat up for dinner. I live solo overseas during the school year, and the WORST part of coming back, especially after long breaks like Christmas and summer when I'm away for weeks and so purposefully empty the fridge beforehand, is having to restock everything while jet-lagged and dealing with unpacking. Flowers would be cool, too, if they like those.

I hope their return home went well. Personally, after a long flight the only thing I would want is peace and quiet and a foot massage. However, not having to worry about dinner and dishes or laundry or anything else would be great too! They are lucky parents to have a child like you to think of them in this way. My hat off to you.

A quick and easy 20 minute at home strength training workout. This is a freeweight workout, so only a few dumbbells are needed.
