Subject: RE: Rev3 Poconos For Pocono oly swim, less than half the swim is into current. It wasn't bad I wouldn't let it scare you away. I could certainly feel I was moving slower than normal going into current, but it's at the start of thr swim so you are fresh for it. I didn't have to fight the current I just swam normal effort. Then turning around you're with the current and it all evened out. My time and level of overall effort at the end was typical for me for an oly. I avg 1:45 per 100 to give you an idea of ability.
Quassy is hilly, but hills arent the worst thing around of you ask me. Sure your time may be a tad slower, but everyone races the same course you're not at a relative disadvantage. But especially on the bike, you can rest your legs on the downhills to recover if u need and manage the ride that way. The quassy run (and Poconos too actually ) is very well shaded which is an overlooked quality for run courses. |
