Good morning BT!

4:45am:  1:05 on the trainer--main set intervals taking my heart rate up to Z4.  Loving/hating the workouts my coach is giving me!

Ride followed by some upper body strength + core.  Karen, totally googling that core workout!

Yesterday I traveled 120 miles east for some shopping, today hubby, older daughter and I are traveling 120 miles west to Elko to watch younger daughter play basketball--her junior high season is in full swing while older daughter's high school season starts Monday.

Have a great day!

Safe travels Kim.

2 miles of running tonight plus some core work. My buddy, an ex marine got me on something called the Recon Ron program. It's a program of pullups that I've been doing every day. Feelin pretty good.

It's just one exercise in a 15-exercise set that my coach shared with me. (One is supposed to do each exercise twice, but for some reason that particular one is 3X!) I'm not sure if it's public domain. It's not her own creation--from somewhere called GI Jaynie's Fitness. If that is public and online, I believe it's the one called "August Strength". There is probably a demo of the stability ball transfer crunch exercise on Youtube. Basically you transfer a stability ball back and forth between your hands and feet while doing crunches, and your head and feet never touch the ground. Never fails to get me muttering swearwords by the end of the set.

Here in Saigon...

AM: 50 minute run with some stride drills and strides
Noonish: 3000m of swimming; main set was 5 X 300m

Plus a bunch of walking around running errands downtown.

Here's the link to the evil Stability Ball Transfer Crunch. (I love it how the guy throws the ball away at the end!) My routine includes 3 X 15 of these. (NOT back to back--I do it as a circuit. If back to back, I would probably never be able to get up off the floor.)

Do we really need chia, spelt, and quinoa? Is anything wrong with old-fashioned peanut butter, broccoli and brown rice?

We have new 10 and 20 week training plans for the New Year! These mini sprint plans are very conservative and will get any person thinking of training for a triathlon ready to cross the finish-line.

Cotswold super sprint - UK. Lots of bodies colliding, I swam half over someone, got kicked by some bloody breaststroker, and as a mob we poured towards the first buoy.

Already a cyclist and not a bad swimmer, I figured all I had to do was build up to running a few miles and I’d be ready to go. The challenge invigorated me, and I ran out to buy new running shoes.

Since I didn't have much time and since it's a super sprint, am I OK just go to at the training relatively hard through Thursday or even Friday?
