Elite 4583 | Subject: 12.5.16 Monday Morning! Good morning! Ready for another week! 4:45am: 30 minute easy run with some drills in the middle 5:15am: :40 minutes 5X5 lower body + core The wind is howling here again today--I can take the cold, but the wind just makes it so much worse. Jamie: In all the FTP test was 60 minutes---20 min warmup, 10 min build up to 8/10 RPE, FTP test: 15 minutes @ 9.5 RPE, 5 minutes @ 10 RPE, cool down. Longest 20 minutes of my life except for the previous Sunday when I did the same for my run! Lol! Have a great day! |

Well, TriDot's Wave two Preseason training starts this week. I was hoping to get a work out this morning to follow but nothing yet so I went to the gym at 5:00 AM and did a my own thing. Warm Up: 1 mile on the indoor track with drills Main Set: 2 X 15 minutes tempo runs on on the tread mill building up from 6:45 pace to 5:45 pace. 1 minute walking on the track between repeats.Note: I can't do the tempo runs on the track because I would run people over. Cool down: 1/2 mile walking. It was really foggy here this morning. :-)

Master 8247 Eugene, Oregon | Subject: RE: 12.5.16 Monday Morning! Every time I do an FTP test I cannot help but recall the dog that belonged to the owners (both multiple IM finishers) of my hometown tri club/shop (which folded a few years ago). It would stand in front of your bike (on a Computrainer for the test) and bark loudly. Could never work out if he was trying to encourage you or warning you to stop before you died. People would finish and fall into these piles of mats we called the "recovery room" (Or was it the ICU? Someone in the group was a nurse). The dog would then lick the sweat and, if necessary, the puke! Even if I am by myself, thousands of miles away, doing a test, I swear I can hear the dog bark. Anyway guess I will be hearing the dog on Sunday. Should be an interesting mix with staff holiday party on Saturday night. The test was actually on my schedule for today but told my coach I just couldn't stomach it at 4:XX AM on a workday..... Swimming fail here. Pool closed all week as the evening lifeguard's wife had her baby and he gets five days of leave. So no swimming till Saturday. Lifted instead--about 45 minutes of new routine--more crazy stuff with a stability ball but at least no more transfer crunches. |
