Wow, I can't believe it's time to start this again.

Here's the standard blurb...
Who wants to run at least 1,000 miles in the year? Join in and report on your progress. Some people will definitely have higher goals and that is okay. But the thread is for all those that want to at least hit the 1,000 mile mark in running (or walking or run/walking).

Here's the tracking spreadsheet...
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/17VWciD8tPAvVijWJG9mhn3bNpUQk...
Hopefully the link will work for everyone.

In 2015 my total was 1243 miles.
In 2016 it was 665 miles.
I'm hoping to get to 1000 miles again by the end of 2017. With a run tomorrow I might get ahead of the pace bunny for the first time in a very long while.

Don

Illinois Marathon in Urbana-Champaign. I believe it's April 30. Have you heard of that one?

I am back in for another year.

I just finished up the Walt Disney World Dopey Challenge series. 5k on Thursday, 10k on Friday, Half Marathon on Saturday and Full Marathon on Sunday. I am doing IM Boulder, IM Chattanooga, and the Chicago Marathon this year. So my totals should as good or better than last year.

I lost my job in November so I am unemployed at the moment. I am going to live off my savings for the next year so I will have a lot of time to train this year. 26 years as an environment laboratory technician. I have been accepted in the faculty of nursing so I start the next phase of my career in September.

Good luck everyone on whatever your goals are this year.

I'm in too! Injuries side-lined me last year and now I'm dealing with some runner's knee issues. I'm gonna heal that and keep truckin!

I'm in again. Started off badly this year because of a killer cold. Now I'm struggling to get myself in decent enough shape to survive two marathon distance weekends in Feb. Neither of the weekends have a mary - one is at Tybee Island and has 5 runs that equal 26.2 miles and one weekend is back-to-back days of HM.

I would love to join too. I did 1125 last year and I am coming off a calf issue--ran for a whole three minutes today! But without pain.

Roland, Pam, Time2TriHard and wieczynski.
Welcome - glad that you are able to join this challenge!

I've been playing leapfrog with the pace bunny all week. Today I'm 1.3 miles ahead - with a run tomorrow and a bit of luck I might be able to stay ahead of the little fluff butt for good.

Better late than never to join in on this one. I hope to hit 1000 this year, off to a terrible start due to life and a lot of it early on but getting back on a roll. Should hit the first 100 next week then we shall get it going from there.

Slowly and patiently rebuilding. Hit almost 73 miles for April. I did log more than 1400 miles on the saddle though!

Thanks! But that was for the year, hehe. I'm gonna pass 2000 miles after tomorrow's bike ride.

Half way there!
I track my distance in km - after my run on Sunday my total was 804.5 km.
I plugged this into the spreadsheet and the conversion came out to 500.00 miles.

Soon after I got married, I decided I needed to get motivated to work out and focus on getting back into shape. I could barely jog a quarter-mile without needing a walk break.

I think quite truly for the first time I 'get it'. It's not just about the fitness. It's not just about the great little endorphin rush as you hit 5, 10, 15 miles...its not just the medal at the end.
