All,

New to triathlon. Still figuring out which gear to buy now or wait. I have an old body glove wetsuit from like 10 years ago when I used to do wakeboard. If I use it for try, will it help me, hurt me, or do nothing?

In all likelihood that wetsuit is designed for protection rather than swimming, so I would recommend against it.

You can pick up an entry-level sleeveless suit for under $150 if you catch them on sale (Promotion, xterra are two brands).

You're not going to be able to swim well in that wetsuit... just not designed for movement like that.

Either skip wearing a wetsuit, buy a cheap tri wetsuit or rent one.
