Subject: RE: 2.24.17 Fabulous Friday! Just proof of life here. I've been pretty sick (cold/flu type stuff and then bronchitis, complicated by asthma ) for the past three weeks, plus things have been crazy at work--really haven't been able to do any meaningful training, so nothing to contribute. Think I caught something from a sick seat mate coming back from Thailand, or possibly even on the way there as I was struggling with what I thought were allergy symptoms while at the training camp. The following week, I went to Singapore and did a very short aquathlon (couldn't really push the run due to asthma ). Probably not the smartest idea, but I would not have been able to get any refunds on flights or hotel, and needed to hit the stores there to get a better pair of running shoes--the ones I got in the US weren't working out. That was followed by a class trip to a national park the next week where I managed to relapse and probably caught bronchitis from one of the kiddos.
Still not 100%, but last night was the first in a couple weeks where I haven't awakened coughing/wheezing/gagging; up to doing some easy workouts. Hoping I can get back to some semblance of training next week. Just so frustrating--things were really starting to come together by the end of last month fitness-wise and now I think I'm pretty much back to Square 1. Starting to question if a HIM in June is realistic or not. I did a strength session Thursday and felt good; didn't seem to have lost anything there, but a HIM is not lifting weights. Ugh.
