Hey there. Training is ramping up a bit, which precipitated a change to my schedule. Monday used to be off; now, it's easy swim/drill day!

11:45 - 1,100 yards, technique focus. Water heater was broken, so I was treated to a cold pool. It felt pretty nice, actually

Have a great day and week!

Out last week in Hawaii, but I did run the 8.2 mile Great Aloha Race in Honolulu. It was a lot of fun. I rode stationary bike at the Aulani Disney resort where we stayed, plus did a lot of open water swimming and snorkeling. Average about 17000 steps per day on the legs too running around, hiking and sightseeing.

This morning ran 7.5miles down to the beach. Nice cool weather, but I was able to be the rain coming in. Going for a few miles on the trainer tonight after Piano and Taekwondo.

HIM - April 1st Oceanside. I am pretty far behind in training due to knee therapy, but I hope to manage the race and finish under cutoff time

Hawaii sounds awesome! Could use a week of beach time to recover!

2500m of swimming here, mostly easy-ish pulling and drills. My endurance is just shot after being sick for three weeks.

I "was" building training nicely for Cour d' Alene in June but now feel like I'm just starting over. I did only 4-6 hours of each sport TOTAL in February. Mainly illness but not only that--there were some travel days and a school trip in there. Very bad timing. I guess it would be worse right before the race, though. Now psyching myself up to run for 45 minutes--it sounds like a long time.

2,750 yard workout, pulls, drills, kicks, etc. I am so tired of flip turns, I need some open water soon. Now I know how a gold fish feels trapped in a bowl.

Last night I got my room and rental car booked and paid for St George!

I got a 70.3 simulation coming up next Saturday. Open water here i come, oh man the taste of salt water, can hardly wait!!!!

I went into the pool area (as this was a pool swim) and got body marked. That's when it hit me that I was there to race - this was not a clinic.

I have been able to swim 200-300 yards without stopping for the past couple of weeks, but this morning I couldn’t swim more than 50. Could not eating make a big differance?

This is not an easy task, especially for the “9-to-5er” with family. But you can do it – all without sacrificing your marriage, job or family.

Once you caught your breath, it occurred to you that finishing even a short triathlon might be harder than you thought. After a few "laps" you thought, "I can't believe I'm so out of shape."
