Good morning BT! My usual Sunday ahead--OWS and then a 2 hour trail run. Going to do the run when it heats up a little--my 70.3 in May should be nice and toasty so I want to start running in the warmer part of the day.
Games went great, won all three and daughter hit two homeruns!
Rich--looking forward to the race report!

Happy Sunday!

Kim hope you have a great OWS and trail run, sounds fantastic!

Got to the pool this am for a nice little 1800 yard workout.

2 hour trainer ride this evening to shake things out.

Race report is posted, have a great start to the week!

Congrats on the games!

Trail running sounds great....No outdoors here; as I just had a 1:35 minute trainer ride, with a bunch of big-gear builds. Slept in and dawdled around in the morning as no need to do it early (since indoors in AC) but then kind of regretted that--by the time I got to my favorite brunch cafe, they only had outdoor seating left and it was almost 100 degrees out. Ugh!

It takes about 15 minutes each way to get somewhere semi-"safe" to ride, so hardly seems worth it until rides top two or 2 1/2 hours. Will probably try to work in a few outdoor rides over spring break before I have to actually ride the bike in a race (sprint tri in Singapore) in April, though.

It was a sunny day today in the Puget Sound, first time in a while and probably last time in a while.  We are more than 50% over our average rainfall so far this year, mostly because it's raining nearly every day.

So today was a perfect day to race the Mercer Island Half marathon! I really enjoyed the run and I'm very pleased with 1:57:18 time. No shin pain no knee pain just a little IT band stiffness.  I've been working to fix those problems for months and I'm glad to see it paid off.

Rest day today. Unless you count shovelling snow.

Awesome sauce for your daughter! Congrats Kim.

Busted out the mountain bike for an hour of fun today. I found a trail that goes underneath a really old fashioned wooden railway bridge and there are enormous pink granite boulders scattered around it. I hadn't thought anything about it until I read the plaque that said a train flew off the bridge when they were transporting pink granite to Austin to build the capitol building. The boulders remain just as they landed when it crashed. T'was a good day of fitness and history.
