But............ I'm not even sure what they did is a record or not. But, if it is....do you recognize it as a marathon record (considering all of the participants in the lead out did not run the entire distance)? What do the governing bodies say about the method they employed? Just curious. |

Nike controlled the pacing, which is illegal and the fueling. Not to mention, this took place on a race track I believe. I'll see if I can find and post a link to the article that covered this. |

It's really incredible to me that the margin was SO close! Over the course of 2 hours. Incredible. I have been following the Breaking 2 project via the Runners World podcast, so I checked the site on Saturday morning to see the update. Even knowing he doesn't do it, I watched the last 15 mins or so on the edge of my seat. Watching their fast legs is mesmerizing. |
