Good morning! I'm alive! Survived St. George! Bad news is I have my first ever DNF...good news is that was the hardest earned DNF ever! Lol! I crossed that finish line by sheer grit and determination. I will be writing up a race report to detail what went wrong. What a day!
Nothing as far as training for me today--just driving home from St. George!
Have a great Monday! Race report will be up soon!

Good morning. Kim, I look forward to your race report. My only DNF was due to a head injury, so the fact you crossed that line upright and intact is a good thing!

After work today, I have a 20' run and then a strength session. I'll be doing the strength work that coach will have me do when on vacation next week, so time for a preview.

Have a great day!

Kim, Sorry to Here about the DNF. Glad you mad it across the finish line though.

I am taking the day off. Maybe do a couple mile walk around the block to recover from 1/2 marathon yesterday. It was an average run, but the pre-race freezing rain. hail and torrential downpour made for the most interesting race I have ever done. It rained for better part of an hour after race started. Drenched head to toe for whole race though added a little extra weight, so slowed me down a hair.

Have a good day BT folks!

P.S. still contemplating doing a FULL

I surprised myself on my bike ride this morning.  I have a 30 km route that I did in the mornings.  Last fall after doing a Bike focused training plan for 3 months I was hit average paces between 20.3 MPH and 20.8 MPH.  I was trying to break 21.0 MPH but never was able to do it.  over the winter I have been seeing my pace fall. I have been pushing harder and harder and see slower and slow times 919.6-20.1).

This morning I desired to pace myself like I did in my 5K race on Saturday.  My watch read my first 5 minute split at 19.7 MpH, then I got a 20.1, then a 20.0, then another 20.1, then with just over 2 miles to go I hit a 21.1.  Hmm??? that can't be right.  Well stay about 21 MPH for the next two miles and and find out.  So I pushed it really hard for the last two miles keeping over 21 MPH the who way.  The final average was 21.3 MPH.

I was pretty happy with that.  My 1 mile brick off the bike started with jello legs.  IT was the first time I had felt jello legs in about 10 years.  I knew I had a good bike ride.  The run was fine too.  It only took about 1/3 mile to get my feel under me.  It was only a 30 km ride after all.  :-

Kim, sorry to hear about your DNF, but you still got across the finish line and that is what counts! I myself had some issues and at one point I wasn't sure I was going to finish the bike course. I finished at 7:37, much longer then I had envisioned. Will have a race report later as well. Glad your ok.

No workouts today, body is pretty beat up from St George.

Rest day for me, quads are pretty sore from the weekend.  Thought about a short swim just to loosen up the legs some, but I need to get the rainwater off the pool cover first.  So, maybe I'll just drink a beer instead -- I could sure use a low key week after the long buildup to St. George.

Robert, way to push through whatever your issues were on the course and get a finish.  And Kim, remember that DNF > DNS !!  I look forward to reading both of your race reports.

Sorry about the DNF, but I'm glad you were able to cross the finish line to give us a report.

Been a while since I've come around here to BT. Looking for motivation to return to training after getting sick the day I was supposed to race Subic Bay 70.3. The disappointment left me unmotivated to be consistent with some kind of maintenance routine.

Monday I did my usual Crossfit class at lunch.
