Ok, experts, help me out here.

I use my Xterra for Olys and Halves

Looking for something quicker in transition for sprints. Do they make a bibjohn type wet suit that isn't full length? Have not been able to find one. I'm in Wisconsin, so want to wear something that provides a little warmth/buoyancy but can easy in / easy out. Thanks!

I cut a decent amount of length off my legs with the scissors - best thing I ever did, should have done it sooner.

I've heard if you do this, try to do it below any horizontal seaming in the leg.

Once I did this I was able to take off my suit a LOT LOT LOT faster.

Neosport makes a sleeveless that comes down to about mid calf. Super easy to strip out of it.

Sleeveless suit. Cut legs to "capri" or 3/4 length.

ProMotion used to make a sleeveless shortie model for just the purpose you describe (quick transitions, borderline temps) but I think it has been discontinued. When my old one wore out last year I was able to buy a model that they still had in stock. You might check to see if they still have anything or have come up with something similar. I believe it was replaced by a sleeveless suit that goes to mid-calf. (The old one ended above the knees.)

Hmm, that Short John is very interesting. As a strong swimmer who only does short course summer tri's in the local smallish lakes (where it's never so cold you NEED a wetsuit), that looks just about perfect for me. And I found a place that has them for under $100.

I put my order in today for a little over $100 delivered, will report back when I'm able to try it out.

Gotta say, really like this product.

Tried it today for the 1st time in the pool. 4 sets of 500 yards.

Good warmth (rolled it down between sets to cool off)
Good buoyancy (obviously a little less in the lower legs, but butt, hips, thighs are really high in the water)
Felt much more like natural swimming that a full suit.
Standing in the lane, was able to unzip, roll it down, and have it off in about 8 seconds.

Point of reference, I am about a 48 minute HIM swimmer, which is a relaxed, comfortable pace for me.

Hard for me to compare since this is my first wetsuit, but I really liked it. Worked great in the pool, felt totally comfortable in open water lake swims and worked out well on race day. Race day water temp was 66-68 and I never felt like I was getting too warm.

Since the water temps in Central FLA didn't get much below the low 60's this year, the wetsuit really worked out perfectly. Hopefully it will hold up so I'll be ready for next winter.
