Subject: 5.17.17 Happy Hump Day!

Good morning BT!

5:00am:  :60 minutes 5X5 strength + core

Heading to Vegas today for State softball!  I'm packing some workout clothes with the hopes of getting some kind of movement in over the next few days! State track and field is in Vegas too--many of my CC runners qualified in various events so I'm going to try to get over to see some of them run as well. This is going to be an exciting weekend for sure!

Karen...holy 400 watts just sounds impressive!  Lol!

Errr...that was 12 seconds, maybe 15 max! That is probably Daniela Ryf's FTP!

AM: 3000m of swimming. Bunch of sprint and pull sets.
PM: Easy one hour run.

Kind of a recovery week. I do have some nasty FTP intervals tomorrow. Thinking of doing them after work. I have some work to finish and just can't get to bed early enough tonight to really get enough sleep to do it early AM before work, and not sure I can put out that level of intensity (4 X 8 minutes at max sustainable power) and still stay on my feet at work!

Good luck with HS softball team Kim.

Worked on speed this morning. Totaled six miles in the training.

Did core work and weight training after run workout.

Hey everyone. Today was a planned day off so I could catch my plane to Hawaii. Well, I'm not on a plane to Hawaii . . . got to the airport about 5 minutes after the cutoff to check luggage. That was my fault. American Airlines was not very helpful. That was their fault. Anyway, I'm now headed to HI tomorrow - at least I still get to go!

The upshot is that I got to do my tempo ride that I was supposed to do yesterday, but didn't due to craziness with final preparations for vacation.

10:30 - 1 hour ride, with 2 x 4 tempo efforts. Felt tough.

Have a great day, and I look forward to checking in on all of you from the 50th state.

Arrrgh!  That stinks but have a great time in Hawaii!!!

long work day. lots of stress but managed to get in a 22 mile trainer ride

Late to the party as always!

This week I joined a somewhat local Master Swimmer club (the very local one's practices don't play nicely with my schedule) and that cute little coach made me kick my own butt with a sprint workout. I think the total distance for the hour workout was only 1400 yards, but I was ready to barf on more than one occasion. Afterward, my shoulders had that dull pain that I usually get after swimming around 3 to 4 thousand yards.

I think this is going to money well spent

Oh, and I started my morning out with my daily 5 minute workout: Two minute plank, 37 pushups, and 15 sit ups. The plank stays at two minutes, the other two are added to every so often. I just started the sit ups about a week ago at 15; before that it was just the plank and pushups.
