Subject: The End Of One Of The Greatest Triathlon Events In Mighigan: The Experience In Frankenmuth, MI, USA
I was stunned to receive this email from Tri For Life....who have for the last few years put on one of the finest Triathlon Events Ive ever gone to. As a mere age grouper this event was one of the most professionally run, great food and drink as part of the package, and scenic events. (Hell the start of the race was off an 1800s era Steam Paddle Boat!) And now the event is no more for politics behind the scene...

Email:

From the Coleman Family...
Thank You and Goodbye...
In 2014, TFL moved its main event to Frankenmuth. We were excited for growth, yet cautious of the politics. From the onset, managing the event has been difficult, and behind the scenes didn't reflect the spirit of the event or our amazing supporters. As of very recent, we've been informed that all proceeds, TFL acquired sponsorships, title, and ownership of the event would have to be handed from our non-profit to Frankenmuth organizations or there would be no event. We are being pushed out for financial and political gain. We were even asked to give their organization "seed money" to help them get rid of us. Tri For Life in partnership with 3Disciplines, has worked hard every year to differentiate our events and truly offer our best, and we weren't willing to hand over what we've built or sell our athletes out. Those that registered for 2017, paid for a TFL event and we could no longer guarantee the product. Therefore, we are walking away with our heads high, very proud and in celebration of all of you. For 12 years, you've supported our family through our darkest time and brought healing through your smiles, tears, and friendship. You'll never know what it meant to see the large gatherings, year after year, in honor of our Chase. The memories you've given our family, we can never thank you for.

Moving forward, TFL will be quickly processing refunds of the entire amount for 2017 registrations and those that registered in 2016 and transferred to the 2017 event. Please, be patient as we work through this task.

We appreciate your past support and hope it continues in whatever way you see fit. We're taking a breather for now, but...we can't say what the future brings. We can only say it won't be brought to Frankenmuth.

Special thanks to all of our sponsors (listed on our site and FB page), our loyal volunteers and 3 Disciplines Racing for a 12 year partnership.

This attempt to reach ALL athletes will certainly fall short, so please share this message to inform other athletes of the news. Visit our Facebook page and our website for special thank yous and other news.

Our deepest and most sincere Thank You,

Buck, Nancy, Lon, Trevor, Brandon and Chase

I would imagine there's more to the story than that, but we may never know.
