Subject: Scary moment on bike
So I was on vacation this past weekend. Took my bike and was riding Sunday morning and having a great ride. I was biking on some back country roads and wasn't a lot of traffic. The cars and trucks that were out were giving me plenty of room and I felt pretty safe. I wear a mirror on my sunglasses during training to watch cars approaching me from behind.
I notice a car coming up behind me pretty fast as I was going up a hill. It is my thought that he was (1 ) going to pass without slowing down or (2 ) didn't see me and was on phone. Two cars came across other side of hill as he approached and he had to slam on brakes. Nothing but white smoke behind his car and his rear end started fishtailing.
He regained control and passed me after the opposite lane was clear. He was a young teen and never looked at me. I think it scared him as much as it scared me. I was nervous all the way back to the lake house and checking my mirror every 5 seconds. No more incidents but it ruin a great ride.
Be careful out there people. |
