Subject: RE: cycling jersey? There's in-betweens.
I finally found a short sleeved tri top that wasn't too garish and didn't cost a fortune. It's just like a 'tighter' cycling jersey.
I wanted sleeves because I burn like crazy. Also, I needed new shorts. Obviously, we have different needs in terms of clothing function. And while I'm not entirely contending with the body image issue so much, I do contend with the physical aspects of not having the body of my dreams.
1. I still have some belly fat and probably some extra skin in that area. If a top is even remotely short, it'll roll up in seconds exposing my luscious and ample stomach area. Add in that I am looong in the torso and short in the legs....hah....it's rare that people don't have regular access to my sumptuous tummy. That does kind of bother me, mainly because I'm always tugging it down.
2. As a bonus, if my bottoms/shorts are fairly low riding ('sup Forza?! ), anything less than too long of a top and once I hit the bike, I'm putting on a show like the proverbial plumber.
I know other people don't care. But, I'd prefer not share those bits and pieces of myself with other folks.
So, in the process of trying to find a top and a bottom that worked together better than what I have been using....when I finally found a top that worked.....still none of the shorts were working. Didn't realize how much they were a contributing factor. On new shorts order attempt number three, I had them throw in two different sizes of a tri suit. .
Gotta say, I think I'm going with the suit. It eliminates both those mechanical issues for me. As a bonus, it's like full body Spanx. |
