Hi all / Buongiorno tutti

although I sincerely doubt any Italians are here...

Im 35yo, male. Currently working in Italy - poor me. Food and wine in Tuscany doesn't make any kind of physical activity any easier...

Used to play football (soccer for our overseas friends) and did overall a lot of other sports. Never liked running around really. Had a lot of injuries few years back and after knee surgery I am coming back to sports. However, football is off limits due to ligaments becoming too loose and potential injuries.

So triathlon it is. Started training recently. Almost drowned in the pool yesterday. Getting ready for a sprint in October.

Looking forward to learn a lot from all of you and hopefully give something back

Cheers

My grand mother was half Italian, does that Count?

Your story sounds a bit like mine. had to give up "fun sports" (like football/soccer, chasing a ball around is so much more fun that just running for the sake of running) because of my knees and chose triathlon instead.

Good luck with your training, (try not to drown) and your first race!
