Not Able To Tri - Rant

Was training for Lake George HIM. Well that's too bloody expensive....I'll do the Oly instead. Cool.

Been training just the right amount, you know, to the point where the wife starts complaining. Early morning swims, late night trainer workouts, the whole bit. I don't want to just finish the race, I want to place as high as possible in my AG and Overall.

Well..... then a guy at work quits. It's the third shift 12mid-8AM. As the manager, I have to cover it until we find someone else, but we haven't found anyone else. The most promising candidate had stolen $3K in cash from a previous employer, which I found through doing a last minute internet search of their name, moments before I was about to offer the job. Everyone else doesn't show up for scheduled interviews, or is a def no hire.

2 problems with this: 1- I am absolutely exhausted from covering these shifts. Training is just maintenance at this point, no speed work. 2- Triathlons traditionally have check in/start time BEFORE 8AM, which is the time I get out of work. So by the time I get out (exhausted from being awake all night) and drive to the venue the race will be over. I am hoping to hire someone in the next few days to salvage my Summer training and get to the race. Otherwise, I'm just a guy who swims, bikes, runs and pisses off his wife.

PS. To add to all that, I'm having weird foot pains that just started and I can't quite figure it out.
