Good morning BT!  Hard to believe it's been 16 years since 9-11.  One of those historical moments I can remember exactly what I was doing when the news first spread about the attacks.

4:30am:  :40 minutes on the trainer, ladder like workout.

5:30am:  60 minutes strength, deload week so it actually went a little faster.

Here's to another good week of living and training!

Kim, I was sitting in a meeting when the attack occurred on 9/11. My pager would get news updates and I got the notification of the first plane hitting the tower. I bumped the person sitting next to me and showed them the news alert. We were wondering if it was an accident but then the second plane hit. Sad day.

My race was cancelled this weekend because of Irma.

Did a five mile run with weight/core training afterwards.

I was drifting off to sleep in bed in Beijing with my new kitty (the one who died last year). In an instant the most peaceful time became one of the most horrible. Flying out of SFO at noon today--security will probably be very tight.

No training here. Really no plans for the next few weeks except to rest up and try to get healthy. I am doing (I hope) a "destination" race in New Zealand in February, so getting healthy enough to run pain-free and keeping up swim and bike endurance will be priorities. Really not sure about goals for next year yet. It'll be my last in my AG and money is tight; don't think I'll try for 70.3 Worlds again (it's in S. Africa); also having some family issues; not sure what I'll be doing with myself, or even where I'll be living.

Off to the races (airport) soon.

Hey there. I was returning my duty keys (I was an RA in college), and the girl at the front desk told me what happened. I was so out of it that it didn't really register with me.

11:40 - 50' strength

Have a great day. Safe travels, Karen.

Good morning BT!

I an undergrad in college 16 years ago.  I went to all my classes as normal and heard of the attack on the twin towers but was really too busy to stop and think about the days events until that evening.  After dinner I decided to go down to the apartment of guys down stairs because they had a TV (unlike my apartments) and were always watching the news.  I think I stayed at their apartment for the next 3-4 hours.

6:15am:  :35 minutes on the running.

Warm-up - 1.5 miles easy running with strides

                Main Set - 6 x 400m with 90 second rest intervals

                Cool-down: 1/2 mile easy running

9/11, I was getting ready for work when my buddy called and left a message. I was listening to the message and thought he had to be making this up so I turned on the TV and watched live as the second plane hit. I was in a daze, mesmerized as the events unfolded on the TV in front of me. Finally made into to work 4 hours late, they ended up letting everyone go home early shortly after I arrived.

4 hours and 60 miles on the bike this morning.

Only 2 weeks until Semper Tri Sprint and Superfrog 70.3

I was at work when I heard a plane had hit a highrise. I got on CNN on my desk computer and didn't get much done the rest of the day.

Finally got back in the gym today for a short workout. Trying to get started again so baby steps.
