Subject: RE: 11.23.17 Happy Thanksgiving! Goodness, I almost forgot yesterday was Thanksgiving! No turkey here. We are having a staff feast on Sunday when everyone has more time to cook, eat, and digest!
AM: 45 minute pool run. I will be very, very thankful if/when I don't have to do those anymore.
PM: 43 minutes of strength stuff. This is a routine so long and complicated that I think of it as the "trophy wife" routine. Even taking out three sets of lunges on the second round through (I can do them but they just felt weird and iffy--I think my ligaments are too tight on that foot or something ), just the time spent doing the sets was 43 minutes. The whole thing, done with very little break in between, takes well over an hour. If you actually rest the recommended amount between sets, it would take over 90 minutes. Only a trophy wife would have time for a gym workout like that!
To be honest, this year has been a struggle in many ways--not just injuries but family issues and other stuff--some days it has come down to trying to feel thankful that I have a roof over my head, plenty to eat, and a job, and am not living in a war zone or refugee camp. And yes, I am thankful that every day I can say to someone that I did a workout!
