December?!  What?!  Good morning!

4:45am:  Insanity + :30 incline walking.  Sunday I can finally start running!  Not injured, just a coach imposed break from all s, b, r.  It's been great but I really, really miss running and bike sessions!  (Karen, I know I shouldn't complain about not running but I know you know what I mean!)

Karen--you and the dress--are beautiful!  That dress is gorgeous!  Now, is the raised lace (not sure if that's the correct term) velvet?  The peals looked perfect with it.  That is totally a dress I would wear...absolutely love it.

The year has gone by quickly, although January seems like a long time ago if that makes any sense.

6:20 - 20' run on the treadmill

6:40 - 30' strength

Glad I do not have a coach imposed break! I just go off coaching at the end of the season, and do (or not do) what I want for a few months, with the general understanding that it will not just be lie on the couch for weeks on end and eat donuts! Wouldn't mind taking more time off biking, but.....there's Wanaka. And there aren't a lot of outdoor activities around here. Even outdoor biking is tough and not much fun, with the exception of MTB rides. But rainy season still hasn't quit. We seem to be stuck in "transition", and mud. And I'm not much of an indoor exercise or class lover.

Here, just 50 minutes of biking. But it was this hellish workout with a bunch of max power (above FTP) stuff. My HR got up to 171! I'm out of shape for that kind of stuff. I think I'm a bad fit for Jorge's program. The 70-80% stuff seems too easy unless I add maybe 10-15 watts. All of the other stuff is just impending death. I can only hit the targets if I add extra rest; otherwise I'm lucky to make it within 10 watts. I think I just have less difference between max and tempo than most people. (My HIM power isn't really much different than my Oly or sprint power--the latter two basically the same and maybe 25-30 watts higher than HIM. )

Yes, the raised pattern on the dress is velvet. Too bad I don't have a real occasion to wear it. Had thought to wear it for our staff faculty party, but it's not being held in the usual place (really good food, nearby) but somewhere way on the other side of the city. Just don't feel like being out late way over there and I have a lot to do with packing, etc. next weekend.
