5:30 AM--1:05 trainer ride with 45 minutes of high Z2/low Z3 stuff
4:45 PM--2500m in the pool; easy recovery stuff. The lights stayed on for my swim. Not taking that for granted anymore!
Plus I ran/walked a bunch with my younger XC kids. Sometimes with the beginners there is no way to teach pacing but just stay with them and make sure they are doing a "conversational pace". AKA Run, walk, and talk with the kid (s ). My newest runner is a tiny eight year old who looks six--so cute watching her little legs go! One of the 4th graders who was really struggling earlier somehow managed to run/walk almost 5 km in half an hour. (They set lap goals each day; once they reach them they can either keep going, or go to a sprint or field event station for the rest of practice. ) Wow!
