Subject: 12.22.17 Friday!

I've been slipping on starting the threads!  

Today: 8:00am:  :45 minute run followed by :50 minutes on the trainer.  Did double duty since I slept in yesterday and was just generally lazy all day!  

So, tomorrow we are leaving for a dream vacation with my dad, step mom, mom, my brother's family and my two nephews (sons of my brother that died three years ago).  We are all meeting in Ft. Lauderdale tomorrow afternoon and then set sail Sunday morning on a 7 day cruise through the eastern Carribean!  I can't WAIT to feel that warm sun!!!  Needless to say I won't be posting the daily thread as we are shutting down all electronics for the week!  I hope someone else will start the daily thread though!  Helps for accountability for many of us! I plan to take advantage of the ship's amazing workout room,however!  Definitely want to find a good mix of staying active but also lounging!

I vote Karen takes over while you’re gone. Today I started testing the waters on running again. I had an accident last week that involved some loud crunching sounds in my rib cage and the pain and fear of making it worse has kept my running shoes in the closet. Pain wasn’t too bad today but I want to be careful. Have a great cruise Kim!!

I can try.... I am back in the US now (at my parents' new place in Idaho until January 3), so I won't be 12-15 hours up on everyone else as usual. And I don't tend to get going early on workouts in the winter, especially here where it is often f.... cold in the morning!

10:45-ish: 3600 yd. of swimming in the just-a-bit-too cold Boise Aquatic Center pool. (On the plus side, there are a ridiculous number of lanes--18?--so you can almost always find clear water for a workout.)
12:30-ish: 30 minutes of strength sets

Take care of the ribs, Jamie. I had something like that a few years ago after wiping out while body-surfing in (of all places) Kona. I would take it easy if it hurts to run--I think that slows healing. Kim--have a great time on the dream trip!
