Dumbest thing you've ever done? (Page 5)

When I was young, I would step up on the swim blocks with my goggles around my forehead, then dive.

when i was 6 my mother was cooking and i walked right up to the stove and thought, hmmmmm, i wonder if that RED burner with the pot on it is hot....proceeded to put my entire thumb on it to test it out. OUCH!

when i was about 10 i decided i could probably spin around on parallell bars as good as those gymnasts on the olympics did, and went out to my swingset, flipped the swings over to the side and hopped up to the top of the bar. one flip over (hands wrong way dumba$$) and caught the beltloop of my bluejeans on the screw holding the swing at the top....so there i am, dangling upside down by my beltloop for atleast 3 very long seconds and then i plummeted to the dirt, head first. thankfully no one was there to witness that amazing feat gone wrong.

when i was 16 i was out with a few girlfriends in the woods smoking a...err....umm....cigarette...yah thats it...a cigarette....and as it came around to me it went out so i tried to light it as i was inhaling and the flame from the lighter went UP my nose and burned my entire nose and upper lip. man i think that was really the dumbest thing i ever did. and the most painful! just a couple of months ago (15 years after said incident) i met up with one of the girls from that day and we were remembering old times....she said "hey you remember that time were out in the woods and your lit your nose on fire?" uh, no. cant say that i do. lol.

wow, the nose burning of Heather's reminds me of a party I went to 7 or 8 years ago. It was a co-worker and there was lots of drinking. Well after two of us went through a bowl of cherries (soaked all day in Everclear) and several mixed drinks we were roasting marshmallows out back. Hey everyone, look at me eat a slaming marshmallow. And a second, third.....well number 6 I was off in aim. I left the party hours later with gauze wrapped on my face with burns to my nose and upper lip. When that stuff melts its super sticky and continues to burn. Luckily there was no permanent scarring. Although it might have been an improvement.

I once posted an e-coli cartoon on BT/COJ and almost got arrested by the sensitivity police!

C'mon, don't sell yourself short. You could have been arrested by the sensitivity police, but that's just cuz they were on the scene first. I heard a rumour that the moderately insensitive police were after you on outstanding warrants.

You mean like telling Canadians that they don't know how to spell rumor? J/K!!! ;-)

so I'm dying my hair tonight in the bathroom of my suite. I live with 4 girls, right? 2 were out and 1 was in the living room. Whilest dying my hair, I hear 1 roommate come back and start talking to the other one. In my distraction, I spill hair dye all over myself and the bra I was wearing. I go TEARING out into the kitchen in said bra and booty shorts, yelling about how it looks like my head is bleeding....only for Al to go.."umm Trace..." and right behind her was her boyfriend. Oops.

OK, so not the dumbest thing I've *ever* done, but the dumbest thing I've done RECENTLY...you forget that I'm in a sorority

While stationed in Iraq, me and my buds rolled into a US Army Base that we'd never been to before in the dead of night. We were VERY tired and VERY dirty, and all we wanted to know was "Where is the cots/showers"
So this private dropped us off in front of a tent and pointed off in the distance at a bright light and said "There's the showers." and took off.
Well, we all dropped our stuff and hauled butt to the showers using the shortest route possible, ignoring a fundamental rule of thumb that you always follow in combat. "Stick to established roads and paths."
We got up the next morning to discover a sign we hadn't previously seen that said
"Warning! DANGER! Land Mines!"
and a nice little barefoot path running directly through the field to the showers.
Lucky to be alive.
