I am continuing to have problems with Chrome on multiple computers. Beyond the bolding issue mentioned, the only way that I can reply to a thread is by clicking Reply and then click Tools > Source Code. Once the entry is started, I can proceed with the WYSIWYG editor.

Can you check if your version of Chrome is updated? We made a style change to help Chrome recognize the bold style and I thought it was resolved a couple of weeks ago.

I haven't heard from anyone else about that crazy reply issue. That's very unusual. I use Chrome primarily, not only to reply to threads and create threads but to administer the site and create articles, so I don't think it's a site problem.

Version 63.0.3239.132

I could not reply to this post without going to the source code.

This is happening to me on two different machines. Both are Macs. This one is running High Siera 10.13.3.

Let's see of bold works for me. Why yes it does!

Hmm, that's really strange. I'm using Chrome on a Mac and having no such problem.

No problem on either of my kids' older Macs, either.

I did have one Mac that just won't run Chrome correctly and never would. I finally replaced it. Even uninstalling and reinstalling Chrome didn't help.

Also, I know I asked you this once before, but when you say you are going to Tools > Source Code ... there is no "tools" menu in the forum. And there is no Tools menu in Chrome, either. Where are you clicking "Tools"?

The Tools menu is in the editor.

Oh. I don't have a WYSIWYG editor in mine. Right now I'm typing and I just have a box. Anytime I want to use formatting, I hand-code it, or copy and paste it from another editor.

I'm not sure if that's because I'm an administrator or what.

Let me post in the forum and see if anyone else is having this issue. It's hard to fix if I can't replicate it because we can't cause the error and then check the error log.

Maybe you need a test account that's a regular user?

From Alice: I can impersonate any user for the sake of troubleshooting. So I've logged into your account and I'm typing in the reply screen. I do have the full editor and the only thing I noticed is I did have to click in the box once to see the cursor and begin typing.

Could that be the solution?

Nope. I am familiar with how it works. I use Firefox on one machine and it works fine. When I use Chrome on either machine, I frequently have to use Tools > Source Code to start a post.

Hmm. OK, well I could not reproduce the error in Chrome on a Mac using your account, so I feel like I'm at a dead end. Would it be possible to install Firefox on the other machine and handle it that way?

Someone else in my mentor group has also been experiencing problems replying to threads in certain browsers. I just wanted to make sure that this is still on the roadmap.

Thanks!

Hi - thanks for checking in again.
What is the username of the other person having this problem?

It's not that we aren't taking it seriously, but we can't fix it without an error log, and we don't get an error log if we can't make it happen ourselves. So far, neither Matt nor I on a variety of computers on every browser there is have been able to recreate this problem.

I remember that I even logged in as you and it all worked fine.

tomsimper

I know that it worked fine for you but Chrome does not work fine for me all of the time. As a result, I mostly use Firefox with this site.
