Subject: San Antonio to Corpus Christi H-E-B MS150 Bike ride
A freind wants me to join him and some others in doing a long bike ride from San Antonio to the beach at Corpus Christi. This link shows what the ride is about http://biketothebeach.ms150.org. Basically its 100 miles the first day, 50 the next.

Anyone here planning on riding this too?

I'll be in shape for this ride as I'm planning on doing the Disney Olympic the weekend before, it just that it is pretty close to the tri and I don't usually get fully back into training that soon afterwards. I know when my freind and I get together for something like this, it never just stays a nice easy ride, or run, or swim, or whatever. It's always a contest!

I would have to rent a bike in SA too. I wonder if there is a bike shop in the area that rents out bikes, anyone have a recommendation? I'd love to ride a lightweight road special :-)

Olympic means, what, 24 miles on the bike? Doesn't exactly prepare you for 100 miles, much less 50 the next day.

I'll peak with 40-50 mile rides before the tri on a near 45lb Hardtail Mnt Bike! I guarantee you riding a nice lightweight road bike will be the total opposite of riding on that machine :-)
