Subject: Boston area doctors?
Hi,

Has anyone had any good experiences with an orthopedist in the Boston area? I've been battling ITBS since April, have been to two orthopedists, but I don't feel either one really understands runners. A little background… I took 4 months off from running and cross-trained with swimming, and in addition, went to PT 2x week during August and September. I was in week 5 of a couch-to-5k program last weekend when I had a big IT flare-up during a run, and now I feel like I'm back to square one.

Can anyone make a recommendation in the Boston area? Many thanks.

Brian

I had good luck with Dr. Lyle J. Micheli at Children's Hospital.  Even though he is at Children's, he treats adults as well.

Dr. Michael Wilson @ Brigham & Woman's.  He did my ankle surgery almost 10 years ago.  Since then I have found someone closer to home that I like, otherwise I would still be going to Boston for Dr. W.  I think he is/was a runner if I remember correctly.  Good luck with the ITBS.

Micheli is great.  Also Martha Murray at Harvard/mass general/ Childrens or Peter Gerbini (same places) although I think Peter may have moved.  Martha is awesome and one of the smartest people I have ever met.  She is an MD/PhD
