I'll be arriving Friday (racing Sunday) - we have a townhouse on the lake near Shackett's store (about two miles from the park).  We could possibly have a get-together at the townhouse on Saturday afternoon, or maybe at CuNaMara during the mooseparty Saturday?

We're also about to announce a bonfire both Fri and Sat evenings at Camp Wicosuta. Drumplay will be playing as everyone hangs around the bonfire and roasts s'mores...Should be good times!!!!!

man, I hope the weather turns around...We don't need a repeat of last year.....

Lots of cool new things we're about to announce, in addition to the bonfires...
We'll have a charicature artist on site, to do pics for athletes, another band on the course (you may remember the drummers Drumplay, from Cleveland, OH, at Timberman), wetsuit strippers, and more....

Getting pretty fired up!

Strippers!!!  WoooHooooo.     Ohh you mean to take your wetsuit off, oh well that is cool also.  Maybe we could combine the two?? Hmmmmm....

Sounds like it is going to be a great race weekend.

Thanx for all the effort Keith.

Adios
Dave

First 1/2 here as well. Man am I dreading the thought of similar weather from last year. I can still clearly remember postings all over the place starting when someone said the transition area was under water, then the close call to cancellation.

I'm really looking forward to the bonfire and earning that finisher's medal.

Did someone say Smokey The Bear turned stripper, or something like that?

Well, 6 days of rain and cold has finally broken today.  This forecast should help to (start to) dry the course out:

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 63. North wind between 7 and 13 mph.

Friday Night: Clear, with a low around 38. North wind between 6 and 9 mph becoming calm.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 70. Calm wind becoming northwest between 6 and 9 mph.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 39.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 69.

Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 42.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 76!!

While the Olympic last year was a wash out (as far as rain goes), the 1/2 was a great day to race.  Overcast and cool, while watching wasn't the best, racing was nice.  With Keith's team working on the T area, the race will come off without a hitch (as far as the athletes are concerned at least).

Adios

Hope the warm weather we have in the forcast warms the lake up a little.  Went out there this weekend to check out the bike route and the lake. The water was maybe 50degrees at best and painfully cold.

Saw Keith and his helpers raking out Mooseman transition today - the park is clean, clear and DRY!  Ready for BTers to rumble!  Water was 63-64 today!  Now if we could just hit the weather pause button...

Hello everyone!

Unfortunately I suffered a fracture on my tibia last week at FL 70.3 and I'll be out of action for a while hence I probably won't make it to the moosey although I am considering still going up there to grab my race packet and be part of the cheering crew. BUT in case the MD advices me to stay put, I need a huge favor. Ron (BT founder) asked Jess (tritakemeaway) to give me a BT banner they used for St As and bring it since I was originally going to race. Anyway, Ron needs the banners for the BT booth and in case I might not go up there I need to see if anyone can pick it up and bring it to him. Any volunteers? I live in Boston (Backbay).

Jorge, that means you have to come to cheer for us next week.

Actually, I live close enough to you I can grab that banner thing and bring it to the race.

Anyone up for an short 15-20 ows Friday before registration maybe 4:30ish?

Also if you are interested in dinner Friday night with a group of us, send me a PM with your cell phone number, how many of you there will be and an email address would be super. I'll get back to you with my cell and detail when they are set. If it is easy I can help put this together...I need a no stress night though.

In talking with Patty we thought we'd go to the Irish place Cu Na Mara Friday night like we did last year, corner of West Shore Drive and 3A. It isn't huge and I'd like to see if we can get reservations but probably could only do a group of maybe 15 at the most.

Saturday after the race let's try to meet up at the Moose Party at Cu Na Mara with free Coors, snacks and live music. Party starts at noon....us slower BOPers won't finish until 11:30-12:00 then shower, probably won't get there until after 1:30-2pm.

Saturday night dinner, any ideas? Who wants to organize something?
