Ok I have yet to decided if I am going to get a road bike or a tri bike but I was planning on getting one in April/May. Now I always hear that you use different muscles on a tri bike vs a road bike so if I was going to get one am I better off getting one now to use on the trainer so I build those muscles rather than waiting or would my hybrid on the trainer be ok for now. I should have 2 to 3 months before my HIM to get used to my new bike after I get it.

You don't USE different muscles on a tri bike as much as you EMPHASIZE different muscles on a tri bike.

You'll be fine wih your hybrid on the trainer. I have my mountain bike on my trainer (makes a nice clothes hanger) and do 90% of my early season work on my road bike. Focus on duration and intensity and build your base.
