I was wondering who all of the Raleigh area BTer's are so maybe I can hook up and train some time.

Just off the top of my head...ellasdad, nctrinewbie, jenneunc, tri'nnc, fitphd, and myself (chris hughes) all live in/near Raleigh. I haven't been a part of many of the local BT rides or runs in the past, but hope to in`07. What races are you lookin' at next year?

Me! OOOH ME!

I live in New Hill ... just south of Apex. I work in Raleigh. But judging from your logs ... I probably qualify to watch you train.

Chris,

I am definitely doing the Myrtle Beach Half in February, followed by a couple of sprints and 1 or 2 International Distance Tri's.  My big goals are Duke Liver half IM and hopefully a marathon later in the year.  The marathon is to let me know if IMFL08 is a realistic possibility.

I'm in Wakefield (North Raleigh, almost in Wake Forest).  I'll be running in the Myrtle Beach half and the Umstead Trail Marathon.

surfwallace - 2006-12-15 3:43 PM I'm in Holly Springs. I just started training again so am not sure what races I am doing. However, I am thinking Charlottesville Marathon (UVA alum) or if I can't get any old friends to take me up on that in the next week or so, Umstead trail marathon. Thinking of doing a couple sprints this summer (never done a sprint and don't have enough time to train for much more). Finish the year off with one of the ultras in the NC Ultra Series. Hope to meet some of you guys next year. Reid

The Umstead Trail Marathon is full already.

It sounds like there are a bunch of you (us) out there.  I look forward to meeting you and maybe getting a chance to train with you in the upcoming year.

Umstead always fills up fast. I think it's because of the free burrito's and sweet technical shirts. Mostly the burritos.

Is anyone doing the Umstead 100 miler? 50?

I will be volunteering as soon as I can get back from Azalea ... and will be more than happy to show preferential treatment to BT'ers!

SWEET schedule, Harry! Welcome to BT, by the way! I should see you at the White Lake Half ... I'm doing the sprint but I'll very likely volunteer for the half.

Hi everyone. I'm new to Triathlons. I'm 25 and live in Raleigh. I'm planning on doing the sprint tri at Lake Crabtree in July. I'm open to any and all suggestions for training for my first tri. I use to swim in high school and I'm ok with running 3-4 miles in less than 32min. However, I don't have a bike - so I'll have to get on that after Christmas.

Is anyone interested on getting a group to meet up at the Spin cycle's new years ride?? I'm planning on being there on my bike. Here is the info:

Start the 2007 cycling year out right with a nice 37 mile ride around Wake County with a view of Jordan Lake!! The ride starts at 10:00am from The Spin Cycle. As always, the New Year's Day ride is free!!

That bike ride sounds like fun! I'm in need of getting out there on my bike! I just got new gloves last night at one of my Xmas parties! Let's go!

I would love to at least give it a shot ... but I'm doing the NCRC 5k Resolution Run that morning and don't think I'll be there in time! I'll have to keep that in mind for next year, though.

Raleigh local (not native, after all who in Raleigh is?). Just got signed up, I'm a total newbie. Can barely swim from one side of the pool to the other but working on it. Going to try to do the sprint in Wakefield in April, and Morrisville in July. Need to get some workouts in before I'm gonna embarass myself by working out with others. Maybe later on this year? See you in the water.... and on the road...
