Hey, I'm in Apex.
I'm doing more running (training for boston) than tri work right now. The IOS rides on tuesdays and thursdays usually has some BTers in it. Myself and many of the others are at umstead 2+ times per week.

Hi there. I live in Clayton but work in Raleigh. My biggest goal right now is the Shamrock Half Marathon in March, but I am also trying to work on my swimming and biking to get ready for tri season (my second).

I'm down here in Charlotte, but it sounds like Raleigh has a ton of Tri stuff going on.  Great to hear.  There's a lot of races I'd like to do up there someday.

Good luck to everyone!

I'm in Knightdale, my first tri will be Riverwood Sprint (Clayton) in April. I run at Dorthea Dix Campus (work), swim at Pullen, and bike at home. I haven't tried the training log on here, but I expect to finish the sprint in the bottom third, the first race is just to finish. If I'm not too slow for you, I'm happy to meet up for some training.

Swim 300 yards, 9:30
Bike 11mph
Run 3 miles, 33 minutes

In September I hope to do the Wilmington YMCA Sprint (I went to UNCW, so it feels like home)

I think almost everyone around here will agree that this isn't a site for superstars, although there are some around.  It is an opportunity to learn from and help others, to make friends, to kill time that you should be doing work.  It is all those things.

Try the logs.  I have been following and logging mine everyday and it keeps me focused.

Good luck on your first tri.  Mine is in wilmington in late March.

greetings fellow N-Carolinians.  I'm late on throwing my hat in this arena... but anyways... I'm in Raleigh & have been a member of this site for about 2 yrs, but due to some life happenings, this is my first official race season (excluding a bunch of 5k races).

Reg'd for the Triangle Tri 7/8... but  thinking about doing some of the endurance tri series sprints prior to that race in order to get some experience and practice in ... Would like to do an Oly distance at Pinehurst in Oct. ... but haven't registered yet; i'd like to see how things go w/ sprint training/racing first.... and how my schedule will look before i commit to that race. anyways. it would be so much fun if we could all plan to meet up at mutual races or something to cheer eachother on and put a face w/ the training logs.  so have a great training week everyone! maybe one of you crafty IT folks could create a fancy little .jpg image /NC list with our names in it to put in our blogs?

We definitely need to organize some group training bike rides or runs over the next couple of months as the weather gets nicer. I'll be happy to organize it if anybody is interested. Distance/speed are up for group decision so everybody is welcome.

I think that is a great idea. I'm up for getting together for runs or bike rides! Just let me know the time and place. I'm there.

We are both in Cary.  I live right behind the YMCA.  All we need is a little more daylight in the evenings and we will have 7 day riding.
